There’s been a photo of me online since 1996!

When sharing a link to the American School of the Hague’s late 90s website with fellow alumni, I stumbled upon the first picture of me posted online. The experience was nostalgic, but also awkward and makes me think about the right to be forgotten. I don’t mind, but I can understand that some people might. Courtesy of the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine and my friend Rikard Holm’s student homepage, here is the picture.
The picture was taken in Greece, just outside of Athens, in the summer of 1995. I was on vacation with my girlfriend at the time. I believe the picture was posted online in 1996. I don’t remember scanning the picture; I didn’t have a scanner. Digital cameras: too expensive.
